The San Jose Sharks have placed forward Brett Leason on waivers, a move that points to an imminent roster opening for Adam Gaudette as he works his way back from an upper-body injury.
The San Jose Sharks have placed forward Brett Leason on waivers after he was a healthy scratch for the team's first three games. The transaction, initially reported by Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, is designed to open a roster spot as forward Adam Gaudette nears a return from an upper-body injury.
Leason signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Sharks during the offseason worth $850,000 at the NHL level. If he clears waivers unclaimed, the 27-year-old is expected to report to the AHL's San Jose Barracuda.
