SPFL chief executive Doncaster has responded to his "unusual" two-year notice period in a new podcast appearance.
SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster has addressed scrutiny regarding the terms of his contract during an appearance on The Price of Football podcast. Responding to past reports regarding a two-year notice period in his six-figure deal, Doncaster explained that his employment terms are decided by an independent remuneration committee and the league board, rather than by himself.
Doncaster defended the current state of Scottish football, highlighting record revenues and club fee distributions under his tenure. While noting that the board relies on market knowledge across Europe to set executive terms, he emphasized that the SPFL aims to further improve the commercial picture for its member clubs.
