The New Zealand quick is being rested as a precautionary measure with one eye on the four-Test tour of Australia in December-January

New Zealand fast bowler Will O'Rourke has been ruled out of the upcoming home series against India to rehabilitate from hamstring and calf injuries. New Zealand head coach Rob Walter confirmed the decision, stating that the team is taking a conservative approach with the pacer to ensure he is fully fit ahead of the four-Test tour of Australia starting in December.
The 25-year-old previously sustained a hamstring tear against England in June and subsequently suffered a calf strain in August. Walter noted that New Zealand aims for O'Rourke to return for Canterbury in late December, targeting fitness for the opening Test in Perth on December 9.
