Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has called for strict sanctions for Man City after Premier League rule breaches

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher stated that Manchester City should be stripped of their Premier League titles following 114 financial rule breaches, but argued it "doesn't feel right" to reassign those trophies to runners-up such as Liverpool. City have appealed the independent commission's ruling, which covers financial violations spanning from the 2009/10 season through the 2017/18 season.
Speaking on the Overlap Daily, Carragher warned that any potential sanctions should be enforced across three to five seasons, suggesting ideas such as relegation to League Two or multi-year points deductions. Carragher also expressed the view that Manchester City's Abu Dhabi owners should step down to prevent ongoing damage to English football.
