A shoulder injury sidelines veteran Mats Zuccarello just three games into the season, forcing Los Angeles to lean on AHL standout Jared Wright for crucial offensive depth.

Los Angeles Kings forward Mats Zuccarello is expected to miss several weeks due to a shoulder injury just three games into the season. The veteran offseason signing did not travel with the team for Sunday's matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights, prompting Los Angeles to recall forward Jared Wright from the AHL's Ontario Reign.
Zuccarello previously signed a one-year contract with Los Angeles and recorded one assist in three games after managing a shoulder issue during training camp. Wright, a 2022 sixth-round draft pick who played 23 games for the Kings last season, provides depth after tallying three points in two AHL games this season.
