The Dodgers swiped Edwin Diaz from the Mets in the offseason.

Writer Pat Ragazzo argues that Edwin Diaz's postseason resurgence gives the Los Angeles Dodgers a chance to get the last laugh over the New York Mets. After signing a three-year, $69 million free agent contract, Diaz endured an injury-riddled regular season with an 8.68 ERA. However, he returned in September to pitch five scoreless innings and has delivered three shutout innings with two saves in the NLDS against the Atlanta Braves.
Ragazzo notes that the Dodgers are pursuing a third straight World Series title with Diaz installed as their primary closer. While New York initially seemed fortunate to avoid his struggles, replacement Devin Williams recorded a 4.43 ERA in Queens, leading Ragazzo to suggest the Mets may regret losing Diaz if he leads Los Angeles to another championship.
