New York Mets pitching prospect Irving Cota struck out six batters across two scoreless innings for the Surprise Saguaros on Friday. Despite his dominant outing, the Saguaros fell 10-4 to the Peoria Javelinas in Arizona Fall League action.
Cota returned after missing three months during the regular season due to an injury. Three other Mets minor leaguers pitched in the contest: Peyton Prescott surrendered three runs, Calvin Ziegler took the loss after allowing three runs, and Ryan Lambert tossed a scoreless ninth inning.
