CELTIC boss Martin O'Neill has provided a major update on the fitness of American defender Cameron Carter-Vickers. The ex-Spurs centre-half missed The Hoops' clash with Motherwell through injury. Dane Murray was selected alongside Liam Scales to make up O'Neill's centre-back…

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill has confirmed that central defender Cameron Carter-Vickers is managing a strain and is a significant doubt for the club's upcoming European fixture on Thursday. The 28-year-old missed Celtic's 2-0 Scottish Premiership win against Motherwell, with O'Neill stating that medical staff advised the midweek continental match may come too early for his return.
In Carter-Vickers' absence, Dane Murray partnered Liam Scales in the Celtic defense at Fir Park. The fitness issue comes amid recent debate surrounding Carter-Vickers, who faced public disagreement from O'Neill after the vice-captain claimed Celtic played "a bit random" during recent domestic defeats.
