Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Shane McClanahan has been officially ruled out for the remainder of the postseason, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. The left-hander has been sidelined since September 3 with left forearm tightness and will not be available for the American League Championship Series matchup against the Cleveland Guardians.
Rays manager Kevin Cash stated that there was not enough time to make McClanahan game-ready, though he is expected to enter the offseason healthy and ready for Spring Training. McClanahan recorded a 3.36 ERA over 24 starts during the regular season, while Tampa Bay will rely on Drew Rasmussen, Freddy Peralta, and Nick Martinez in the rotation.
