Wouter Vrancken on Josh McPake reaction to honest Hearts chat before lethal form

Heart of Midlothian manager Wouter Vrancken praised winger Josh McPake for his positive response following a direct conversation regarding tactical expectations earlier this season. After being excluded from early matches and the European squad against Sturm Graz, McPake met with Vrancken to understand the required adjustments. Since their discussion, the 25-year-old has recorded three goals and seven assists across 12 appearances, helping Hearts reach third place in the Scottish Premiership.

Vrancken credited McPake's determination and work rate for adapting to the team's system and earning his place. The manager also highlighted the development of other homegrown players, including Calvin Miller and James Wilson, while confirming former captain Lee Wallace's promotion to the first-team coaching staff.
