The New York Giants hosted edge rushers Yannick Ngakoue, Dawuane Smoot, and Julian Okwara for workouts on Monday. Following the evaluations, the Giants decided to sign Smoot to their practice squad as a free agent addition rather than signing Ngakoue.
The roster move follows injuries at the position, with the Giants recently placing Chauncey Golston on injured reserve alongside Brian Burns. Smoot, entering his 10th NFL season, previously spent seven seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars and holds 27 career sacks, while Ngakoue remains unsigned despite recording 70.5 career sacks.
