ST. PETERSBURG -- Just one game in, we’re already looking at a different ALCS landscape than most expected after the Guardians came back to beat the Rays, 7-3, in their own house. Now, the Rays need to come up big…

The Cleveland Guardians lead the Tampa Bay Rays 1-0 heading into Game 2 of the American League Championship Series at Tropicana Field on Tuesday. Cleveland won the series opener 7-3 behind late home runs from Chase DeLauter and Patrick Bailey, alongside strong bullpen relief. The Rays now look to avoid falling behind 0-2 before the series shifts to Cleveland.
Game 2 features a pitching matchup between Cleveland rookie left-hander Parker Messick and Tampa Bay veteran right-hander Freddy Peralta. Both clubs enter the contest with relatively healthy rosters, although Rays pitcher Shane McClanahan remains shut down for the postseason.
