‘That’s When We Eat’: Confident Asante Samuel Jr. Happy To Be Tested In Coverage

Steelers cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. expressed confidence after being heavily targeted in coverage during Pittsburgh's game against the Indianapolis Colts. Samuel set a new career high with four passes defensed on Sunday, bringing his total to seven through five games as he solidifies his role as a full-time starter.

Samuel initially projected as a backup after signing a one-year, $4 million contract in the offseason, but he stepped into the starting lineup following Joey Porter Jr.'s trade and an injury to Jamel Dean. Despite previously recovering from spinal-fusion surgery, Samuel has capitalized on his starting opportunities and welcomed the Colts' repeated attempts to test him through the air.
