Mason Greenwood was roundly booed by Aston Villa fans, with the former Manchester United star playing football on English soil for the first time since January 2022.

Mason Greenwood was repeatedly booed by Aston Villa supporters during his first match at an English stadium since 2022. Playing for Fenerbahce, the 25-year-old forward was targeted with jeers during team announcements and faced hostile chants whenever he touched the ball early in the game.
Greenwood, who joined Fenerbahce from Marseille in a £36million deal, started on the right wing against former Manchester United teammate Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The match marked another chapter in his turbulent career following his departure from English football after criminal charges against him were dropped in 2023.
