Martinez called out Manchester United’s lack of ambition as the defender doubled down on his withering criticism
Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez has reiterated his criticism of the club's board and director of football Jason Wilcox, calling for greater ambition following a 2-0 Champions League defeat against Atletico Madrid. Speaking to Peter Schmeichel on CBS after an initial interview with Prime Video, the 28-year-old stated he expects more from the hierarchy and refused to stay silent about the club's direction.
Martinez also questioned the squad's quality compared to other elite teams and highlighted issues with on-pitch energy, confidence, and rotation during United's five-match winless streak. The defender faces potential internal sanctions as manager Michael Carrick prepares to address the media ahead of their upcoming Premier League match against Leeds United.
