The Toronto Maple Leafs host the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night to start a three-game homestand following a 5-4 road loss to the Utah Mammoth. Head coach Jim Hiller's team has conceded 16 goals over their last four games while playing without injured defenseman Chris Tanev, though Auston Matthews has driven the offense with a five-game point streak.
Buffalo enters the matchup after a 4-3 shootout defeat to Montreal, where goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 35 saves. Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff noted that captain Rasmus Dahlin is doubtful with an upper-body injury, while Jason Zucker and Matt Grzelcyk also remain sidelined.
