‘Broke Barriers’: Tottenham celebrate Black History month with pitchside tribute to follow during Coventry fixture

Tottenham Hotspur are celebrating Black History Month through a partnership with Show Racism the Red Card, featuring an exhibition and pitchside tribute. The initiative honors pioneering Black players from both the men's and women's squads. Beginning October 15, stadium tour visitors can view dedicated display panels, and several club icons will be introduced on the pitch ahead of the Coventry City match on Monday, October 19.

The project includes educational sessions for north London schools focusing on trailblazers like Walter Tull, British football's first Black outfield professional. The exhibition showcases 1980s legends Chris Hughton and Garth Crooks, Danny Thomas, Mitchell Thomas, Andy Gray, and Jeff Minton. It also honors women's pioneers Jackie Fearon and Zoella Freeman, recognizing how their legacy paved the way for current players Drew Spence and Jess Naz.
