The Boston Bruins need to end this concerning trend before the losses start to pile up for Marco Sturm's club.

Writer Scott Roche argues that despite the Boston Bruins' strong 5-2-0 start to the 2026-27 season, underlying flaws continue to plague the team. Boston opened its four-game road trip with a 6-3 victory over the San Jose Sharks, but Roche highlights that issues such as frequent turnovers, zone-clearing failures, and penalty trouble were heavily masked by the goaltending of Jeremy Swayman.
According to Roche, the Sharks outshot Boston 38-26 and generated significantly more attempts at five-on-five, exposing defensive vulnerabilities. With upcoming games against the Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings, and Dallas Stars, the writer warns that these persistent issues could lead to problems if not quickly addressed by head coach Marco Sturm's squad.
