When Damian Lillard tore his left Achilles tendon during the playoffs two seasons ago, he recalls that a television pundit said the injury would be the end of his career.

Damian Lillard is returning to the Portland Trail Blazers this season determined to prove doubters wrong following a lengthy recovery. The All-Star guard is making his comeback after spending roughly 16 months rehabilitating a torn left Achilles tendon suffered during the postseason two seasons ago.
Lillard sustained the severe injury while playing for the Milwaukee Bucks before rejoining Portland. He recalled that a television pundit previously suggested the injury would end his professional career, providing motivation for his return to the court.
