Giancarlo Stanton’s ninth season in New York might just end up being his last. Stanton’s future with the New York Yankees is “murky,” Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reported on Thursday.
Giancarlo Stanton's future with the New York Yankees is increasingly uncertain following his ninth season with the club. Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reported that the Yankees may be comfortable moving on from the veteran designated hitter, as parting ways would now cost the team only $15 million.
Stanton is set to turn 37 next month and appeared in just 24 games this season due to recurring calf issues. While he holds a full no-trade clause, his contract guarantees $15 million next season with a $15 million club option for 2028.
