The New York Yankees could target a number of exciting players in an effort to replace Jazz Chisholm Jr. in 2027.

The New York Yankees could consider trade targets like Miami Marlins switch-hitter Xavier Edwards, Chicago White Sox prospect Sam Antonacci, and Kansas City Royals second baseman Michael Massey to replace free agent Jazz Chisholm Jr., according to insider Joel Sherman. Sherman reported on his podcast that the Yankees are likely to move on rather than risk Chisholm accepting a qualifying offer valued at over $23 million.
According to Sherman, acquiring Edwards would likely require a substantial trade package that could include Anthony Volpe. Other potential external options discussed include Antonacci, who could command pitcher Elmer Rodríguez in a deal, and Massey, who offers elite defense despite a modest offensive track record.
