On The Fore Play Podcast, Kevin Kisner criticized Rory McIlroy for saying he wanted to grow the game in India while receiving an appearance fee.

Kevin Kisner criticized Rory McIlroy on the Fore Play podcast, claiming McIlroy's participation in the DP World India Championship in New Delhi was driven by financial incentives rather than altruism. McIlroy previously spoke at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum about growing golf's global reach in India, but Kisner argued that McIlroy and other stars traveled for substantial appearance fees rather than a genuine desire to expand the sport.
Kisner also questioned why McIlroy would choose to play a course where he reportedly could not utilize his driver. While McIlroy's exact appearance fee remains undisclosed, other notable players such as Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood also attended the tournament and took part in promotional events, including the "Diwali with the Stars" dinner.
