The Bulls thrashed Stade Français and the Stormers battered Bristol for maximum match points, while the Lions Champions Cup debut came amid the loss of teammate Hyron Andrews.

The Bulls and Stormers secured bonus-point victories in their Investec Champions Cup openers on October 17, 2026, while the Lions played in honor of late teammate Hyron Andrews. The Bulls defeated Stade Français 56-20 at Loftus Versfeld, powered by eight tries including a hat-trick from 20-year-old wing Cheswill Jooste and eight conversions from Handre Pollard. Meanwhile, the Lions suffered a 31-14 defeat away against La Rochelle just 48 hours after Andrews' passing.
In Cape Town, the Stormers overcame disciplinary troubles, including a 20-minute red card to JJ Kotzé, to defeat Bristol 49-12. Leolin Zas and Jonathan Roche each crossed for two of the Stormers' seven tries, while Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu successfully converted all seven kicks.
