Chris Boyd admits Gloucester let a golden opportunity slip after drawing 36-36 with back-to-back European champions Bordeaux-Begles at Kingsholm.

Gloucester technical director Chris Boyd expressed disappointment after his side let a golden opportunity slip in a 36-36 draw against European champions Bordeaux-Begles. Playing at Kingsholm in the opening round of the Champions Cup, Gloucester came close to handing the back-to-back champions their first tournament defeat since April 2024.
Gloucester established a 36-29 advantage midway through the second half following two tries from replacement Will Trenholm. However, Bordeaux winger Louis Bielle-Biarrey responded with his second try of the match to secure a draw and share the points.
