Kevin Durant is no longer a member of the Suns, but apparently, he and team owner Mat Ishbia still have a few things to discuss. And thanks to social media, the rest of us get to follow along.
Kevin Durant and Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia publicly exchanged sharp words on social media following Ishbia's interview on CNBC Sport. Ishbia admitted that his initial approach to team-building by throwing money at high-profile stars like Durant was ineffective, prompting Durant to respond on X that he was being unfairly blamed for the team's struggles.
Ishbia replied directly to Durant, stating that he was not placing blame on him and expressed confidence in the culture Phoenix is building. Durant, who was traded to the Houston Rockets, countered by noting Ishbia should be thankful he is not paying him an absurd amount of money to play elsewhere.
