Union Berlin were beaten comfortably 5-0 away in Köln in midweek in the DFB Pokal and are looking for immediate revenge in the Bundesliga on Sunday in back-to-back games against the West German side.
Union Berlin will face 1. FC Köln in the Bundesliga on Sunday, aiming to avenge their 5-0 DFB-Pokal loss to the same opponent earlier in the week. Union Berlin currently sit 16th in the table and are dealing with several absences, including Felix Uduokhai due to suspension, as well as Robert Skov, Andrej Ilić, Stanley Nsoki, and Andrik Markgraf.
Meanwhile, 1. FC Köln are seeking their first away points of the Bundesliga season, having lost on the road against Frankfurt, Stuttgart, and Hamburg. Head coach René Wagner noted Union will be motivated for a response, while Köln navigate their own squad issues with Imad Rondić, Thijs Dallinga, Ellyes Skhiri, Timo Hübers, and Rav Van den Berg all ruled out.
