Burnley man changes international allegiance as 8 players earn call-ups

Burnley winger Marcus Edwards has officially switched his international allegiance to Cyprus after receiving his first senior call-up for upcoming Nations League matches. The 27-year-old previously represented England at youth levels up to the Under-20 side, while also qualifying for France and Cyprus through his parents. After securing a Cypriot passport, he is set to feature in games against Latvia, Montenegro, and Armenia.

Edwards recently returned to Burnley's starting lineup in a 1-1 draw against Derby County following his re-registration into the 25-man squad. Seven other Burnley players also earned international call-ups, including Hjalmar Ekdal, Oliver Sonne, Shurandy Sambo, Connor Roberts, Zeki Amdouni, Max Weiss, and Max Alleyne.
