The Story in 60 Seconds

Gambian forward Abdoulie Manneh suffered a significant setback after a proposed permanent transfer to Birmingham City collapsed due to a failed medical. Chris Davies' side had agreed on a deal with Swedish club Mjallby AIF, whose sporting director Hasse Larsson confirmed the agreement, but the 21-year-old was unable to complete the winter switch.

According to Gambian football expert Baboucarr Fallaboweh, the failed transfer was mentally challenging for Manneh, following an earlier collapsed move to Olympiacos. The attacker has since joined Belgian side Cercle Brugge on a season-long loan deal, though fitness issues have delayed his debut.
