Real Betis midfielder Pablo Fornals has reflected on West Ham United's decision to dismiss manager Manuel Pellegrini in December 2019. Speaking to Diario de Sevilla, the 30-year-old expressed disagreement with the sacking, noting that West Ham was not in the relegation zone when the owners opted to replace Pellegrini with David Moyes.
Pellegrini originally brought Fornals to West Ham from Villarreal in 2019 before later signing him again for Real Betis in February 2024. Fornals made 203 appearances for West Ham and admitted feeling sadness over his former club's recent relegation to the Championship.
