The Story in 60 Seconds

Wrexham have announced the departure of chief executive Michael Williamson, with club director Shaun Harvey set to take on a new role. Williamson's exit comes just over two years after his arrival in 2024, during which he oversaw the club's promotion from League One to the Championship. Co-chairmen Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds thanked Williamson in a joint statement for his contributions to the club's on-and-off-pitch growth.

Harvey, a 56-year-old director and former EFL chief executive, will take on expanded responsibilities supporting manager Phil Parkinson and the squad. The boardroom changes come as Wrexham sit 16th in the Championship table with 17 points from 14 games, following a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough ahead of a clash with Wolves.
