Billy Sharp played 90 minutes in the FA Cup but failed to score his 300th professional goal…

Sheffield United legend Billy Sharp has returned to retirement following a 4-0 FA Cup first-round defeat with AFC Rushden & Diamonds against Burton Albion. The 40-year-old striker temporarily came out of retirement to feature for his former club, playing the full 90 minutes at the Pirelli Stadium. Despite several close attempts in the second half, Sharp was unable to find the net to reach his milestone 300th career goal.
Burton Albion secured the victory with first-half goals from Will Collar and Raphael Borges Rodrigues, before adding two more in the second half following an error by goalkeeper Charlie Woods and a late stoppage-time finish. The match concluded Sharp's brief comeback, leaving the forward on 299 career goals.
