Southampton defender Keven Schlotterbeck was administered oxygen on the pitch after suffering an injury during a Championship match against Preston North End at Deepdale. The 29-year-old German centre-back went down in the ninth minute, causing a lengthy stoppage. A stretcher was initially brought out, though Schlotterbeck was ultimately able to walk off the field while appearing to hold his shoulder.
Zach Abbott replaced Schlotterbeck, as Preston went on to win the fixture 1-0 courtesy of a 33rd-minute goal from Jordan Thompson. The defeat ended Southampton manager Tonda Eckert's seven-game unbeaten streak, with the club now monitoring Schlotterbeck's condition following his 13 consecutive starts since joining from FC Augsburg.
