Award-winning Mavropanos is West Ham’s most confusing player and Nuno proves it

Dan Owen argues that Konstantinos Mavropanos is West Ham United's most confusing player despite reportedly winning the Championship Player of the Month award for September. The center-back scored four goals across five matches last month, netting against Wolves, Bolton Wanderers, Wrexham, and Millwall. Manager Nuno Espirito Santo is also reportedly set to claim the Manager of the Month award after guiding the team to second place.

However, Owen contends that Mavropanos' attacking brilliance has masked significant defensive struggles, including an own goal against Wolves and defensive errors against Millwall and Bolton. Nuno highlighted Mavropanos' attacking contributions while stressing that the squad must improve defensively, particularly when defending set-pieces.
