From France to the Championship: Ekomie impresses Wrexham team-mate James

Wrexham midfielder Matty James praised teammate Jacques Ekomie for his swift transition to Championship football following a summer move from French side Angers for an undisclosed fee. The 23-year-old Gabonese wing-back quickly adapted to life at The Racecourse, scoring in a 3-0 victory at Millwall and a 1-1 draw with Burnley.

Ekomie also provided a decisive cross that resulted in a Keven Schlotterbeck own goal during Wrexham's 2-1 win over Southampton. James credited Ekomie for overcoming language barriers and praised fellow summer arrival Ben Whiteman, who joined from Preston North End.
