The Story in 60 Seconds

Humphrey Ker will remain a patron of the Wrexham Miners Project despite stepping down from his formal positions at Wrexham AFC. The community charity confirmed on social media that Ker will continue his role, just days after the club announced his departure from the board and his role as a Foundation trustee, ending his five-year official club association.

Ker became the Wrexham Miners Project's first lifelong patron in November 2023, supporting efforts to restore the historic Miners Rescue Station. His fundraising initiatives notably included completing the Manchester Marathon in April 2025, which raised over £130,000 for the community restoration project.
