Sheffield Wednesday let the defender head out the exit door on loan in September and have now allowed him to extend his stay.

Sheffield Wednesday defender Joe Emery has extended his loan spell at National League North side South Shields by another month. The 19-year-old initially joined the Mariners in September and will now remain with the club until Saturday, November 7, 2026, to gain further first-team experience under manager Mike Williamson.
Emery has made six appearances across all competitions for the promotion-chasing side. Sheffield Wednesday manager Henrik Pedersen currently has depth in central defense with players such as Liam Cooper, Sil Swinkels, and Ricardo Santos, allowing Emery regular senior playing time elsewhere.
