The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has fined Barcelona €602 for an improper pursuit of Atlético Madrid forward Julian Alvarez. Atlético reported Barcelona after accusing them of unethical attempts to unsettle the Argentina international, including leaking details of a proposed permanent transfer worth around €100 million.
Alvarez ultimately remained at Atlético Madrid and recently apologized to supporters for publicly expressing a desire to join Barcelona. His strong performances have limited playing time for summer signing Jonathan David as Atlético Madrid trails Barcelona by two points in LaLiga.
