Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez was chased by Arsenal and Barcelona this summer, and the latter have now been punished for their unlawful pursuit.

Barcelona have reportedly received a symbolic €602 fine from the Spanish football federation following allegations of tapping up Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez. The sanction stems from a complaint filed by Atletico, who claimed Barcelona improperly negotiated with the 26-year-old forward without permission during the summer.
While FIFA declined to intervene in the matter, the Spanish federation cited Barcelona for a minor regulatory breach. Despite Alvarez attempting to force a permanent transfer to Camp Nou, Atletico refused to sell to their LaLiga rivals, and the striker has since returned to Diego Simeone's squad.
