Real Madrid are interested in signing Jarell Quansah from Bayer Leverkusen in a move that would deal a blow to Liverpool’s long-term aspirations of replacing Virgil van Dijk.
Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah, threatening Liverpool's plans to bring him back as a replacement for Virgil van Dijk. The Spanish side, managed by Jose Mourinho, are planning to sign two defenders next summer and have made the 23-year-old England international a leading permanent transfer target.
Liverpool hold an active €70 million buy-back clause expiring on June 15, 2027, following his €35 million sale to Leverkusen in 2025. However, Liverpool must convince Quansah to choose a return to Anfield over moving to Madrid, where his close friend Jude Bellingham plays.
