Aston Villa have made a disappointing start to the 2026-27 Premier League season

Former Aston Villa striker Dean Saunders criticized the club's decision to sign Alejandro Garnacho, stating he was surprised by the move and is not a fan of the winger's attitude. Garnacho joined Unai Emery's side on a loan deal from Chelsea that includes a conditional obligation to buy, but he has accumulated just 31 minutes of action across three appearances this season.
Saunders argued that work rate and defensive effort matter more than individual flair, pointing to Garnacho's struggles to secure regular playing time under Emery. The manager noted that Garnacho remains behind other attacking options following pre-season disruptions, urging the 22-year-old forward to keep working hard in training to earn his opportunities.
