Matty Cash thinks Aston Villa may well have improved over the summer despite selling a number of players…

Aston Villa defender Matty Cash believes the squad is currently in a better position than last season despite a major summer overhaul. Speaking after Villa's 2-1 victory over Manchester City, Cash acknowledged it felt "mad to say" given key departures, but credited manager Unai Emery's tactical preparation and the rapid integration of new arrivals.
Cash particularly praised striker Nicolas Jackson, who scored both goals against City to take his tally to six in six matches. Following a slow start, Villa have won six of their last seven matches across all competitions ahead of upcoming fixtures against Bournemouth, Fulham, and Barcelona.
