Why is there only one Premier League match on Sunday?
Key Things to Know
  • No 2pm Sunday Premier League fixture is scheduled because Aston Villa's game against Fulham was moved to Saturday.
  • The match was rescheduled to give Aston Villa preparation time before their Champions League clash with Barcelona on Tuesday.
  • Liverpool versus Arsenal at 16:30 GMT will be the only Premier League match played on Sunday.
The Story in 60 Seconds

There will be no 14:00 GMT Premier League fixture this Sunday due to rescheduling for Aston Villa's European commitments. Villa's home match against Fulham was originally scheduled for the early Sunday afternoon slot. However, because Unai Emery's side faces Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday, November 3, the fixture was moved forward to Saturday at 20:00 GMT to provide sufficient rest.

As a result, Liverpool versus Arsenal at 16:30 GMT will be the only Premier League match played on Sunday. The weekend schedule instead features seven matches on Saturday across four different kick-off times, alongside a single Monday evening fixture between Newcastle United and Everton. Sky Sports will still broadcast the rearranged Aston Villa game.
