Chelsea sold Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City late in the summer transfer window and have not replaced the Argentine international, with his absence in their team leaving a visible hole. Xabi Alonso is believed to be keen on the addition…

Chelsea are reportedly considering a move to sign Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong in 2027 to address a midfield void following Enzo Fernandez's transfer to Manchester City. According to Spanish outlet Diario Sport, the 29-year-old Dutch international would be allowed to depart the La Liga club for a permanent transfer fee of £55 million.
De Jong remains under contract at Camp Nou until June 2029, meaning Barcelona will not force him out without a suitable bid and the player's agreement. The midfielder has been recovering from a meniscus injury, while Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso is keen to introduce more creativity to his squad.
