Chelsea co-sporting director Laurence Stewart is set to leave the club after four years in the role, according to reporting highlighted by Talk Chelsea. Alongside co-sporting director Paul Winstanley, Stewart had frequently faced supporter criticism regarding the recruitment strategy of Chelsea owners BlueCo.
Stewart's duties will reportedly be absorbed by Paul Winstanley, Joe Shields, and Sam Jewell, while Dave Fallows' influence is also expected to increase. Additionally, manager Xabi Alonso reportedly holds significant sway over transfer dealings, reducing the need for multiple directors.
