Belgium head coach Mark van Bommel praised Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia after his impressive display in Belgium's 4-1 defeat to France at the Stade de France. Lavia provided a brilliant assist for Dodi Lukebakio to open the scoring, prompting Van Bommel to describe him as a top player in the making while noting that if he does not succeed at Chelsea, he certainly will somewhere else.
France manager Zinedine Zidane and teammate Lukebakio also praised the 22-year-old midfielder's vision and quality. Speaking on his fitness, Lavia described his current form and injury-free start to life under Alonso as a rebirth.
