Everton linked with former Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton ahead of January window

Everton are among several Premier League clubs reportedly tracking Lyon midfielder Tyler Morton ahead of the January transfer window. The 23-year-old former Liverpool player has also drawn interest from Newcastle United, Sunderland, Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, Brighton, and Liverpool. Everton have not yet approached Lyon or opened formal negotiations regarding a potential permanent move.

Morton joined Lyon from Liverpool in August 2025 and has featured 10 times across all competitions this season. While Everton are reportedly monitoring his progress, manager David Moyes already has midfield options including James Garner, Hayden Hackney, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Harrison Armstrong, with central attack viewed as a more urgent priority.
