Barcelona are reportedly considering a move to sign Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez on a free transfer next summer. The 28-year-old is expected to leave Old Trafford after his contract expires at the end of the campaign, following public criticism of the club's board regarding their recent transfer window business.
According to Spanish outlet El Desmarque, Barcelona could negotiate a pre-contract agreement with the Argentine defender as early as January. However, Manchester United retain a 12-month contract extension clause that would require Barcelona to pay a transfer fee if triggered.
