The Gunners hope to have the teenager available for Sunday’s trip to Liverpool as they challenge his dismissal before the FA deadline…
Arsenal will lodge an appeal against the red card shown to 16-year-old Max Dowman during Tuesday night's Carabao Cup elimination against League Two side Fleetwood. Dowman was sent off in the 85th minute for kicking out at Harrison Neal after a physical tackle. Mikel Arteta's side intends to submit paperwork to the Football Association before Thursday's 1 p.m. deadline in hopes of having the teenager available for Sunday's clash against Liverpool.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw after regular time, with Viktor Gyokeres canceling out Aaron Loupalo-Bi's opener, before Fleetwood advanced to the quarter-finals on penalties. Following the shock defeat, Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard urged his teammates not to dwell on the result as the Gunners prepare to return to Premier League action at Anfield.
