Fabio Borini has decided to hang up his boots following a 17-year professional career with three of them spent wearing the Liverpool colours

Former Liverpool and Sunderland forward Fabio Borini has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 35. The Italian striker confirmed the decision in an emotional social media statement after failing to find a new club following his release from League Two side Salford City at the end of last season.
Following his announcement, Borini received supportive tributes from former teammates, including ex-Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, Patrick van Aanholt, and Salford teammate Mark Howard. Liverpool also issued a statement honoring their former player and wishing him well.
