A move away from Liverpool helped the international star kickstart his career and earn a Champions League opportunity…

Goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi reflected on his exit from Liverpool ahead of facing his former team with Villarreal in the Champions League. Gulacsi departed Anfield at age 23 after his representative presented manager Brendan Rodgers with an ultimatum regarding playing time. Rather than keeping him as a backup behind Pepe Reina, Rodgers agreed not to stand in the Hungarian international's way.
Gulacsi subsequently joined Red Bull Salzburg before making over 350 appearances for RB Leipzig, where he eventually served as club captain. Despite never making a competitive appearance for Liverpool, Gulacsi stated that training alongside figures like Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez, and Reina provided valuable experience for his career.
